I needed a moderate capacity hard drive that did not cost a lot, and this one fits the bill. It is very small and neat, and having an aluminium case it looks robust. I plugged it into my desktop (running XP)and away it went. Similarly with my wife's laptop (running Windows 7). The unit is totally silent. I have also used it as the storage medium for recording tv programmes via a set top box. So far it has performed without a problem.
