Review : Sound cuts out in Games, Very Poor Win7 64 Bit Drivers, Poor support from Creative.
Whilst this card performs well when it works, the Windows 7 64 bit drivers are dreadful and plagued with crashes during gaming (SW:ToR, WoW, Starcraft II). Intermittently, but frequently during gaming the sound will simply cut out as the driver crashes, requiring the user to close all programs that are using the sound device, and then disable/re-enable the driver in Device Manager.

Creative's latest release driver (Release date : 26 Jul 10) has this problem, the latest 'Beta' driver (Release date : 12 Dec 11) on offer on the create site makes the issue occur _more_ frequently. Daniel K's Drivers, nor the PAX drivers have been able to address the issue either. Tom's Hardware site, and the PAX driver forum list multiple people with this issue and Creative have failed to address it.

All in all I would avoid this card like the plague on a 64 bit windows system, and after this experience, personally I will be avoiding Creative's card entirely. I eventually grew...
